Effect of atorvastatin on advanced glycation end-products in rats

摘要 目的观察阿托伐他汀对大鼠糖基化终末产物(advanced glycation end-products,AGEs)水平的影响。方法 40只雄性SD大鼠随机分为对照组、高脂组(喂予高脂饲料)、AGEs-BSA组(腹腔注射AGEs-BSA并喂予高脂饲料)和AGEs-BSA+他汀组(腹腔注射AGEs-BSA,同时阿托伐他汀灌胃并予高脂饲料),每组10只;分别在12、24周,测定大鼠血糖和血清AGEs、胆固醇、丙二醛(maleic dialdehyde,MDA)水平。结果 12、24周时,AGEs-BSA组的血清AGEs水平较其他组显著升高,而阿托伐他汀能不依赖降脂效应地降低AGEs水平(P<0.05)。结论阿托伐他汀能够降低血清AGEs水平。 Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin on serum advanced glycation end- products (AGEs) in rats. Methods Forty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal diet group, high fat diet group, AGEs-injected group on high fat diet and atorvastatin intervention AGEs-injected group on high fat diet. Five rats in each group were sacrificed and serum samples were obtained after 12 weeks and 24 weeks, respectively. The serum levels of glucose,cholesterol,AGEs and maleic dialdehyde (MDA) were measured. Results At the end of 12 weeks and 24 weeks, the level of serum AGEs in AGEs-injected group was significantly higher than that in other groups. Compared to AGEs group the AGEs level in atorvastatin group was significantly lower, but there no significant difference in serum cholesterol and MDA levels. Conclusion Atorvastatin can down-regulate the serum AGEs levels in rats, which is independent to blood lipid levels.
