文献史研究是外国文学研究领域最容易忽视的环节之一。文章以美国自然主义作家斯蒂芬.克莱恩的《红色英勇勋章》近三十年的主要译本(包括全译本、双语简写本和英文注释本)为对象,考察众译本在语言运用、翻译技巧和主题阐释三个方面的异同。

Survey of documental history is a link which is most likely omitted in the area of foreign literature research. This paper makes a comparative study of the major Chinese versions of The Red Badge of Courage——a novel by American naturalist writer Stephen Crane, to illustrate the similarities and discrepancies of these versions manifested in language use, translation skill and theme interpretation.
