In order to improve the capacity of transmission lines, the on-line detection device can be installed on transmission lines. By measurement in real time of operation parameters of lines and in the condition that the operation safety of lines can be assured, the dispatching department can improve the ampacity of the lines and the operation efficiency, and help the operators learn the real-time operation of lines so as to better the maintenance of lines. The technology turns out to be an effective detection method for safe and reliable opera- tion of power system.
