In July 2012 the president of University of Virginia Teresa Sullivan was forced to resign, which caused the strong reaction of American people from all walks of life. In the view of public choice, this paper concludes that theforced resignation of Teresa Sullivan is me resmt oi me game amoand parents, development law and direction of education. The public research university in the United States has to balance these four interest groups, following the educational law and serving the society, so as to ensure sustainabledevelopment.
