张爱玲是一位有着较强烈的性别意识的翻译家。她为自己翻译的《老人与海》中文版所写序言及对原作中某些带有男性话语的词汇的劫持,都显示了其翻译中的女性主义干涉策略。但总体而言,其译作仍不失为佳作。

Eileen Chang is a translator with relatively obvious gender consciousness. Both the preface written by Eileen Chang for the Chinese version of The Old Man and the Sea and the hijacking of some masculine words in her translation have manifested her feminist interventional measures. But on the whole, Eileen Chang＇ s Chinese version can be regarded as a quite good one.
