A Comparative Study of English and Chinese Word Order from the Perspective of National Psychology Iconicity

语言文字的象似性问题一直以来是语言学的研究热点和重点,然而,之前关于象似性的研究主要是针对句子的语序,而对于词序的研究往往被人们忽略。民族心理象似性具体表现在空间方位、伦理道德、价值观念、形象抽象概念等四个方面。导致不同词序出现的因素有民族文化背景和民族语言自身特点。

Iconicity in language has long been a hot topic and research emphasis in linguistics. However, the previous studies are mainly focus on the sentences but the research in word order has been neglected. National Psychology Iconicity lies in the following four aspects： spatial locations, ethics, values, iconic and abstract concept. And the reasons that such different word orders show are national cultural background and national language characteristics.
