Eco-criticism: Homeland Awareness and Self-disciplining of Theory

生态危机是当今社会面临的一个重大理论课题和现实问题。生态文学批评应当在正视当前人类生态危机的前提下,树立家园意识与理论自觉,引领人们构建自觉的生态意识和健全的生命品格。生态文学批评从人的生存状态去理解、解读文学文本中对于生命权利的肯定,关爱宇宙进化和自然生命状态,反思现代性与社会进步的关系。

Environmental crisis is a major theoretical task and realistic problem confronting the modern society. Eco-criticism should, facing up to such crisis, cultivate homeland awareness and theoretical self-disciplining, and guide people in constructing eco- awareness and healthy character of life. With a view of humans＇ state of being, eco-criticism is meant to understand and interpret in literary works the affirmation of the rights of life and the concern for cosmic evolution and the natural state of life, and reflect on the re- lationship between modernity and social progress.
