摘要
相较于外译中,中译外一直是中国翻译史上较为薄弱的一环。随着21世纪中国"走出去"战略的逐步深入,如何通过对外翻译宣传中国传统文化的博大精深、展现中国新时期的进步与发展越来越引起人们的重视。外文局是新中国建国以来的国家外宣部门,它特殊的部门性质也决定了其与新中国的对外翻译活动有着千丝万缕的联系。本文以外文局的翻译活动为例,对新中国成立以来至20世纪末的对外翻译活动做了梳理,旨在重新审视国家意识形态及赞助机构对翻译活动的影响与制约,并希望通过探究三者之间的关系说明对外翻译的特殊性,以期引起研究者和决策者更多的关注。
In Chinese translation history,the amount of endotropic translations far outweighs that of exotropic translations.In accordance to the 'going global' strategy,exotropic translation is nowadays more emphasized as a means of publicity to mold China's positive international image.However,there are still many problems to be solved in our endeavor to introduce China to the world,e.g.how to deal with the balance between 'going global' and 'well-accepted' in exporting Chinese literature and culture,etc.By investigating translating activities of CIPG(China International Publishing Group) from 1949 to the end of the 20th century,this paper ventures to explore the relationship among mainstream ideology,patronage and exotropic translating activities.
