A Few Questions about Lama Xibja Gunrug

西布扎衮如克在清代锡勒图库伦札萨克喇嘛旗史上具有举足轻重的地位,在其执掌锡勒图库伦政教事务期间,喇嘛旗政教合一制度基本确立,成为独立于内札萨克蒙古四十九旗之外的特殊宗教封建领地。该喇嘛事迹在蒙、藏、汉、满等文字文献中均有记载,不过,史料中多以不同名号出现,如扎木朗班第达诺门罕、萨迦法王、强林诺门罕等,故对其身份有时很难做出正确判断,进而对该喇嘛事迹没有一致的认识。本文将运用相关文献,对其身份、事迹做一系统考述。

Lama Xibja Gunrug had a prominent position on the Xireet Huree Jaseg Lama Banner's history of Qing Dynasty.When he administrated the Xireet Huree Jaseg Lama Banner's political and religious affairs,the system of the Lama Banner's theocracy was basically established,making the Xireet Huree Jaseg Lama Banner a special religious feudal estate which was independent of the Inner Jaseg Mongolian 49 banners.The life and religious deeds of Lama Xibja Gunrug were recorded in ancient Mongolian and Tibetan documents.However,his name was found different in different sources,for instance,Jamlang Bandida Nomun khan,Sa-skya chos-rge,and Qiang Lin Nom-un khan.This has made it very difficult to form a sound judgment about his identity,and therefore there is no consistent agreement on his stories so far.In order to solve this problem,this thesis aims to research into Xibja Gunrug's identity and life experiences based on some relevant historical documents and existing achievements.
