Much of the non-material cultural heritage evolves into a derivative form which differs from its original form in the process of transmission and gains its own life force. The root of this derivation lies to some extent in its attribute of being public culture transmission. The meaning of the non-material cultural heritage generated in the transmission depends largely on decoding, a process taking place on the basis of the receivers' partial identification to and resistance of its original meaning. This decoding process will eventually lead to a modified meaning of the original culture. It follows that the deviation of nonmaterial cultural heritage seems to be bound to appear the result of the meaning modification in its reproduction.
