Production status and variety applications of summer corn in Huanghuaihai region were introduced, and the breeding objectives and breeding ways in future were analyzed. It considered that wheat stubble broadcast was the main mode of summer corn production in Huanghuaihai region, the main varieties had obvious advantages, and resistant density, high yield, suitable for mechanization was the trends in future. Keeping stable yield, multi-resistant and wide adaptability as the premise, density and lodging resistance as the breakthrough, high yeild as the final goal of the overall goal of breeding. Corn breeding should combine the conventional breeding and high-teeh in future.
