E-C Translation of Movie Title under the Guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory

奈达的功能对等翻译理论,强调了翻译要使译文在译入语中达到的效果与原文在原语中所达到的效果大体一致,为现代翻译理论做出了巨大贡献。浅析在功能对等理论的指导下,如何对英文电影名进行汉译。可得知,电影名翻译中不仅要分析原电影名的字面意思,更要挖掘电影中的信息,最终求得功能对等。

Functional equivalence theory of Nida emphasizes that the main aim of ＇equivalent effect＇ is to achieve ＂the closest natural e- quivalent to the source language＂ （Nida, 1964）, which made a great contribution to modern translarion. This paper analyzes how to trans- late English movie title into Chinese, and it shows that translators not only need to know the literal meaning of English movie rifle, but also should seek the profound information of its, then, reach the functional equivalence in their translation.
