By introducing the main performance index of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) rectifier and the appli- cation prospect of a front - end converter with PWM rectifier in electric drive of mine hoister, the cost perform- ance analysis on the front -end variable frequency speed control system with PWM rectifier and direct current speed regulation system was carried out.
