Cultural Self-Consciousness and the Construction of Domestic Chinese Studies

构建本土中国学是中国人文化自觉、自信和自强的重要体现,也是中国提升软实力、展示新形象的需要。本土中国学应在中国"国学"和海外"中国学"两大基石之上,建立基于中国国情的中国学知识理论体系和人才培养体系,深入探讨和凝炼中华文明的内涵、特质,准确把握当代中国的发展规律和特色,总结一种不同于西方的中国经验,向世界展示真实中国、美丽中国的新形象。

The disciplinary construction of Domestic Chinese Studies reflects the self-consciousness and confidence of Chinese people in their culture;it is also the need of China in its efforts to raise national soft power and build a new image.The author believes that Domestic Chinese Studies should establish its own knowledge system and talent cultivation system on the basis of two existing branches of learning,namely,guoxue,or Chinese Classical Studies and sinology,or overseas Chinese Studies.Domestic Chinese Studies should explore the essence of Chinese civilization and its distinct characteristics and reveal the law of Chinas development.By providing a unique experience different from western perspectives,Domestic Chinese Studies will seek to demonstrate a new image of a real and beautiful China.
