With the methods of documental information and observation, the paper analyzes the cultural val- ue of Olympic flame lighting ceremony from the viewpoint of eulturology. It discusses the ideas and originali- ty of Olympic flame lighting ceremony from matter, system and spirit of culturology in order to further under- stand and inherit the culture of Olympic Games. As the material carrier of Olympic culture, the Olympic torch＇ design plays an important role in highlighting the host native culture and educational dissemination; as a prelude to Olympics Games, the Olympic torch has its unique structure and function which embody the obvious cultural features in line with the developing requirements of Olympic culture. Especially as the core of the opening ceremony, the Olympic flame lighting ceremony can really witness the host country＇ s Olympic emotional expression, Olympic spirit understanding and courage of hosting Olympics, which provides a real- istic stage for the fusion of sports, art, science and technology.
