The evolution of labor relations systems throughout Latin America and the Caribbe- an region has a distinctly regional feature, which was consistent with neo-liberal economic reforms and democratization. Latin America and the Caribbean region have over the years accumulated plenty of literature and practical experiences, which carry important implications for China. This essay, in describing the development of labor relations in Latin America and the Caribbean region, divides the process into three phases, with its main focus on the second phase characterized by the coexistence of various labor relations modes. It also discusses the limitations of the third-phase de- velopment of labor relations, suggesting that China should address this problem by learning from Latin America and the Caribbean countires's practices.
