摘要
伍斯特理工学院从一所传统的工程学院发展成为"以创新的本科工程教育模式"而闻名遐迩的理工科大学,其在20世纪70年代初"WPI计划"指导下进行的工程教育改革起到了关键作用。通过对其教育模式进行深入分析后发现,"双塔式"和"以学生为中心"的教育理念、项目驱动型课程体系、以结果为导向的可持续发展运行机制是该校获得成功的主要因素。
Worcester Polytechnic Institute has transformed successfully from a regional industrial university to a national university which is famous for its innovative undergraduate engineering education mode. The educational reform directed by ＂WPI Plan＂ in 1970s played an important role in its development. This article analyzes its educational model and finds that ＂two--tower＂ educational tradition, ＂student - centered＂ educational idea, project--driven curriculum system, outcome--oriented operating mechanism of sustainable development are the key factors to its success.
