In the early of New China, the CPC and the government attached great importance on improving people’s livelihood.A series of valuable thoughts on guaranteeing people’s basic life, developing culture, education and medical care, establishing social assistance and social welfare systems have been brought up.Remarkable achievements have been made in abolishing the feudal system, trying to revive the national economy,developing people’s livelihood cause, establishing and improving various kinds of social security systems.Experiences on the way to improve people’s livelihood, like productivitycenteredness, overall planning and action according to one’s ability have also been accumulated.All these thoughts, achievements and experiences are undoubtedly a valuable historical treasure to help us further strengthen and improve people’s livelihood.
