《軒亭寃傳奇》作者湘靈子考

On the Author of Legend of Injustice at Xuan Pavilion

1907年秋瑾被殺後,蕭山湘靈子所撰的《軒亭寃傳奇》是當時最具代表性的劇作。關於其作者湘靈子問題,學界以往有三種不同的説法。然迄今百年以來,卻一直未能得到很好的確認與解決。本文依據當時的報刊雜誌及其發表的作品,論證其作者即是蕭山韓茂棠,又名韓天嘯。又以大量新發掘的資料,對韓氏家世與生平事迹,及其撰寫的多種著述,作了考述。

Xiang Lingzi's Legend of Injustice at Xuan Pavilion is considered as one of the most widely-known plays referring to the execution in 1907 of Qiu Jin, a Chinese anti-Qing Empire revolutionary andfeminist. However,as to the identity of Xiaoshan-based Xiang Lingzi, scholars usually hold three different views. This issue has remained unsolved for nearly a century. With sufficient newly-found evidence from the newspapers, magazines and books published during that time,a conclusion can be drawn to the case: Xiang Lingzi was the pseudonym of Han Maotang,aka Han Tianxiao,a Xiaoshan-based writer. Moreover,the article also sheds light on the life story and works of Han.
