Study on the GCC’s Food Security Dilemma and its Policy Responses

由于国际粮价的长期高位运行、海湾地区的人口激增及食品消费结构的变化、海湾阿拉伯国家合作委员会(简称海合会)国家正面临着维护粮食安全的严峻挑战。为了实现粮食供给安全性、稳定性,海湾国家采取多项措施积极应对。西亚、北非复杂多变的地缘政治格局及多元化的安全挑战,给海合会国家的粮食安全战略带来了潜在风险。分析这一案例可以有助于中国在推行粮食外交时更好地趋利避害。

Due to the sustained high food price in the international market,population explosion and changes of food consumption structure in gulf areas,GCC states are facing a serious food security dilemma.In order to ensure the future food supply,the gulf states take many active measures.GCC’s food security strategy faces many potential challenges,owing to the complexity of regional geopolitical landscape and the diversity of security problems in West Asia and North Africa.By analyzing the GCC’s case,China can obtain many experiences when promoting its food diplomacy and food security strategy.
