西方传教士在帝国主义侵略中国的历史背景下,借着不平等条约的保护,开始了在中国的传教。随着传教活动与当地民众冲突的加剧,各地教案层出不穷,人民把反帝斗争的矛头逐渐指向了不平等条约。中国基督教会在五卅惨案之后,积极参与了废除不平等条约运动,并发挥了重要作用。对中国教会废除不平等条约运动的历史背景、发展过程及其作用进行基于史实的考察,有助于更客观、准确地理解这一时期的中国废除不平等条约的历程。

The western missionaries started their Missionary activities in China by the protection of the unequal treaties at the time of western imperialists＇ aggression against China. When carrying out the missionary activities, the intensification of the conflict between western missionaries and the Chnese people caused many missionary massacres throughout the country and finally led to the Movement of Unequal Treaty Abrogation after the WuSa Massacre. The Chinese Christian churches actively participated in abrogating unequal treaties and played an critical part in it. It will help us to get an accurate understanding on the process of the Unequal Treaty Abrogation Movement by giving an investigation on it based on the historical facts.
