Auditory steady-state response (ASSR) evoked by periodical click can be used in the field of clinical hearing tests and brain state detection. This paper studies a method that evokes ASSR by chirp stimuli based on cochlear basilar membrane traveling wave delay, with ASSR measured with stable frequency stimulation using chirp or click sound. The difference of the signal distribution and amplitude between ASSRs by chirp and click of 40 Hz and 90 Hz was identified with the detection rate of ASSR calculated using modified Rayleigh test method. The results show that the ASSR evoked by chirp is more stable with higher SNR and faster detection than the ASSR evoked by click. Therefore, this approach is promising in clinical application instead of the click method.
