哥萨克是俄国时期一个特殊的社会群体,现为俄罗斯一个典型的亚民族,具有独特的历史和文化特征。无论过去或是现在,哥萨克对俄罗斯都具有十分重要的功能和作用,自古备受文学家的青睐。在俄罗斯文学中,俄罗斯作家塑造了一系列哥萨克艺术形象,贯穿于诗歌、小说和戏剧等不同题材作品中,成为俄罗斯文学重要一部分:哥萨克文学。哥萨克文学以历史题材小说为主,以颂扬哥萨克自由精神、英雄主义和悲剧命运为基调,以浪漫主义和现实主义手法描述了哥萨克作为一个独特社会群体的历史功能和社会文化变迁。

Cossack was a special social group in Russia and now it is a typical sub-nation of Russia. It has its own unique his- tory and cultural identity. Whether in the past or now, Cossack of Russia has a very important function and role. In Russian literature Russian writers have created a series of Cossack artistic figures, in different forms such as legends, poetry, fiction and drama. These works become an important part of Russian literature： Cossack literature. The works of Cossack literature are mostly novels with historical themes which eulogize the Cossack free spirit and heroism or depict its tragic fate with roman- tic or realistic techniqnes.
