张国光高举"当代红学"大旗,目的在总结六十多年来红学界的是非功过。"两种《红楼梦》,两个薛宝钗",是他的"当代红学的宣言书"。他猛烈批判红学两个"凡是"派的代表周汝昌,深入论述高鹗的巨大贡献;批判周汝昌支持的红学丑闻"震惊人类的发现",捍卫中国红学和中国学术的荣誉;与欧阳健论战,肯定胡适新红学和脂评本发现的重大意义,这一切都是为了中国"红学"健康地迈向21世纪。

ZHANG Guo-guang has surmnar/zed the research on ＂A Dream of Red Mansions＂ in the past 60 years and his statement ＂ two A Dream of Red Mansions, two XUE Bao-chai＂ is his declaration of the contemporary research on the masterpiece. All of his doings have made a great achievement for the healthy development of the research on ＂A Dream of Red Mansions＂ , including his sharp criticism against ZHOU Ruchang, his high praise of GAO E for his great contribution to the masterpiece, and his controversy with 0UYANG Jian, etc.
