摘要
当前大学拓展英语课程的教材面临着挑战。文章依据CBI教学理念,以及对大学生英语四级后拓展课程需求的问卷调查分析,特别是在分析学生对教材满意度、对提高学生听说能力需求的前提下,实施拓展英语视听说课程的教学探索,在课程设置、授课内容、教学方法和评估手段方面进行尝试。特别在教学内容方面,研究组结合学校自身办学特点,依托农林学科发展的新观念和新成果的报道内容进行教学。课程结束时研究组进行了后期问卷调查,并将选修与未选修此课程学生的CET 4和CET 6的成绩进行了独立样本T校验分析。结果表明:以学科内容为中心的教学理念为指导,选取国内外农林新闻报道内容作为拓展英语视听说课程学习的主要内容,能使学生在获得新信息、扩大视野的同时,习得英语语言知识,提高英语学习兴趣,培养主动学习的意识;也能提高学生英语听说、阅读和写作能力。
Presently, the textbook of expansion English courses is facing challenge. Based on the teaching theory of Content - based Instruction and the analysis of students' requirements of expansion courses after CET 4, the syllabus, teaching content, methodology and assessment were explored with an audio - visual English course for the students. After one semester' s experiment, a questionnaire survey was conducted in the students and a t - test of the CET 4 and 6 scores between the students who took the course and those who didn t take the course. Results show that the learning materials can motivate students to learn better. Authenticity, interesting information and coverage in agricultural knowledge not only improve their listening and speaking, but also improve their reading and writing marks in CET6 test. More importantly, by taking this course, most students have improved their learning autonomy and obtained the latest information in agriculture, which in- spires them to learn academic English and use English as a useful tool in their life and study.
