Thoughts on Cultural Construction

文化是一个国家、一个民族生存和发展之根,其核心是群体的价值取向。近代中国由于经历了腐朽的封建统治和野蛮的外国侵略的苦难历程,并受到外来文化的强烈冲击,整个社会的价值取向和传统文化被扭曲和破坏。当代社会经济取得了长足发展,文化有必要进行重构,以实现中华民族的伟大复兴。

Culture is the root of a country and a nation＇s survival and development, whose core is the value orientation of groups. Modern China has experienced hardship because of feudal rule and brutal foreign aggression, by the strong impact of foreign culture, the value orientation and the traditional culture of the whole society is distorted and destroyed. The economic development in contemporary society has made a good progress, so it is necessary to reconstruct the culture in order to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
