摘要
"Parallelism"是英语中一种重要的语法手段和修辞手段。由于英汉两种语言之间的差异,排比结构的表现形式不同,在汉语中并无真正意义的对应项。对英美名人演讲中英语"Parallelism"与汉语"排比"的应用情况进行对比研究,揭示英汉在排比结构方面存在的非完全对应关系,以便建立英汉在排比结构方面的可比性框架。
Parallelism is an important grammatical and rhetorical device in English. However, due to the linguistic differences between English and Chinese, ＂paibi＂ （parallel structures） in Chinese owns a differ- ent form of expression, so there is no exact corresponding item in English. This paper contrasts ＂parallel- ism＂ in British ~ American famous speeches and ＂paibi＂ in their Chinese versions, addressing the inequali- ty between the two languages, so as to offer a comparable framework for analyzing the parallel structures between English and Chinese.
