Focusing on the shift between different languages before, translation studies now puts more em- phasis on the impact of social factors on translation. Susan Bassnett and Andre Lefevere, as two represent- atives of the Cultural School in Western translation studies, both emphasize on the restriction of extra-lin- guistic factors in translation. Making an introduction to Constructing Cultures ： Essays on Literary Trans- lation, this paper comments on Bassnett and Lefevere＇s views on translation studies.
