Taking part in the China Guardian 2013 Spring Auction has become the goal for a number of master porcelain makers from Jingdezhen.Although the government's anti-corruption policies and other factors have led to a cooling off period for auction industry,2013's auction was not a complete disaster for these masters.Compared to the collecting of contemporary oil painting and Chinese traditional painting,collecting contemporary porcelain is a very chaotic affair.Despite this however,several true masters in the industry have come to be recognized by the market. Since 2005,when contemporary porcelain collecting took off,Jingdezhen has experienced rapid change with money flowing into this closed off little city and currently numerous 'new masters' of the art are awaiting their turn to prove themselves.
