Geological age of the Tanshanwan coal measure in southeastern Hubei

<正> 炭山湾煤系是谢家荣、刘季辰1924年建立。命名地点在湖北阳新县炭山湾。中南区区域地层表将此煤系置于吴家坪组底部含煤段,时代为晚二叠世早期。李星学等根据Ullmannia sp., Plagiozamites oblongifolius等,认为应属龙潭期(P_2~1);冯少南认为炭山湾煤系的时代属早二叠世晚期。陈公信研究了鄂东南蒲圻城关火车站附近炭山湾煤系中硅质团块的类之后,认为炭山湾煤系归于晚二叠世早期。

In Puqi of southeastern Hubei Leella, Nanfynella and Chenia fusulinid fauna were discovered in the silicalite and the lens of the silicerous limestone from the middle part of the Tanshanwan coal measure and in Daye of southeastern Hubei the Gigamopteris nicotianaefo-lia-Ullmannia frumentaria floras were discovered in the Tanshanwan coal measure, too.Therefore the Tanshanwan coal measure in Southeastern Hubei is latest Early Permian in age.The Tanshanwan coal measure here may be correlated in age and stratigraphical position with the Gutian Formation in Lianyang, Guangdong and Lianyuan, Hunan and with the Wangpo Formation in western Hubei.
