社会背景、统计模型与研究结果——从Downey等人与G&V的争论谈起

摘要 文章从《美国社会学评论》的两篇文章对"兄弟姐妹数量与教育成绩"的关系的质疑与反质疑谈起,首先对几位学者争议的研究数据和统计模型进行清晰的梳理,接着以社会背景、统计模型与研究结果为三维,对不同国家与地区同一主题的九项研究进行整理、分析,结果发现在统计模型之外,两变量的关系是在不同的社会背景下产生了或大或小的差异。
