洪亮吉学识宏博、天才绝特,所作骈文篇什宏富、风格众多而艺术上乘。洪氏骈文的艺术成就主要体现在四个方面,即语言上的句雕字琢、工于属对,典故运用上的浑融无迹,句式调配上的骈散交融和篇章安排上的曲尽抑扬。由于骈文创作成就卓越,洪亮吉获得了当时和后世的一致肯定及大力推崇;并且经由他的示范,还出现了效仿其骈文风格而自成一派的"常州体",一脉绵延直至清末,影响可谓深远。要之,洪亮吉称得上是有清一代的骈林巨子。

Hong Liang-ji is knowledgeable and uniquely talented writer of parallel prose. His writings showed abundant poetic words, variant styles and first-class art. The artistic achievements of Hong Liang-ji＇s parallel prose writings were mainly reflected in the four aspects, namely the polished sentences, the engraving of phrases and skillful couplets on linguistic level, smooth integration of literary quotations, the mingling application of the sentence patterns of parallel prose and prose, and perfect structural arrangements. Because of his excellent attainments in parallel prose writings, he was unanimously endorsed and highly supported by his contemporary people and later generations. Based on his demonstrative example in parallel prose writings, ＂Changzhou style of parallel prose＂ emerged by means of imitating his style of par-allel prose writings, and then became a school of its own lasting the end of Qing Dynasty, which really had such a profound influence. In a word, Hong Liang-ji is regarded as a giant in the field of parallel prose.
