以格莱斯的合作原则为理论基础,通过对小说《幸运的吉姆》当中主要人物之间对话的对比分析,进一步阐明了他们对合作原则的遵守与违反。从而从另一个层面来揭示本小说所体现的时代文化冲突和作者本人的创作动机。

On the basis of Grice＇s cooperative principle, this paper aims to analyze the conversations among the main characters in Lucky Jim and illustrate their compliance and violence of this principle. Besides, this paper wants to explore the culture conflict and the author＇s creation motive of this novel at that period of time.
