Nierji Reservoir is one of the water sources for the South-to-North Water Diversion Project,it is very important to protect water envi ronment of the Reservoir. The article analyzes the internal and external pollution sources of Nierji Reservoir, points out the primary environmen tal problems and describes the current situation of pollution. Controlling and management measures need to be taken to protect water environ ment are put forward.
