A Pragmatic Perspective on the Deliberate Misinterpretation between Genders

刻意曲解是日常交际中常见的语言现象,也是男女双方话语交际中常用的一种语言策略,形成性别间刻意曲解的关键因素是性别交际主体的心理认知:在性别言语交际中,交际主体调动其认知资源,解读出与听者信息意图相匹配的最佳关联,在此影响下根据自身交际意图曲解对方话语,以确保听者顺应的认知和谐,取得最佳语用效果。从语用学理论中的关联理论和顺应理论的视角,透析性别交际双方使用刻意曲解这一语言策略时的语用立场,可以进一步了解性别双方的立场,取得更好的交际效果。

Deliberate Misinterpretation （DM） is a common linguistic phenomenon in our daily life, and between gender communications, in which the key factor is the subjectivity of the mediator. In the gender communications, the subjectivity of the mediator mobilizes his or her cognitive resources from information available, and searches for the optimal relevance relat- ed to her or his communicative intention; then deliberately misinterprets the discourse according to his or her own commu- nicative intention to satisfy their cognitive consonance. Probe into its pragmatic functions from the perspectives of relevance theory and adaptation theory can reach the goal of better mutual understanding and more successful communications.
