Though generally treated as le, the final - 1 of some Altaic languages in China is occasionally transcribed into Chinese - n in materials of ancient time nearest to the present. It's not a reflection of phonetic alternation in Ahaic words, but a succession of an ancient tradition of Chinese transcription. The special meth- od of loaning Chinese final - n for - 1 proves only to be used on some unstressed syllables of non - Chinese languages.
