Synopsis of Golden Chamber-Water Qi disease underlies the discussion about pulse manifestation, symptoms, etiology and pathogenesis, rules of treatment and prohibition of Pi-water disease through analysis of original text, connection with westem medicine and personal experience. Related with lung, spleen, kidney and triple-energizer, Pi-water disease is caused by internal retention of water due to dysfunction of spleen in transportation and dysfunction of lung in regulation. Syndromes of Pi-water disease are composed of Pi-water mixed heat, Pi-water with exterior excess syndrome, Pi-water with stagnation of Yang-qi and Piwater with retention of damp-heat. The rules of treatment are diaphoresis and diuresis. The nature of Pi-water disease whether belongs to Yin. exterior, cold or excess pathogen is judged through differentiation of eight principles.
