不同的语言具有不同的文化性质和文化气质。美国地名语言呈现出一种独特的文化现象,这是一种马赛克式的语言文化性质。同时,美国地名语言所呈现出来的文化气质也各具特色:源自英国殖民(移民)语言的美国地名尽显强悍型文化气质;源自西班牙语的美国地名则更倾向于庄严型文化气质;而以印第安语命名的美国地名则显示出娇柔型和敦实型并重的文化气质;源自法语和美国本土的英语地名,其活泼型文化气质更为显著。

Each language has its own cultural nature and cultural qualities. The language for American place names suggests a unique cultural phenomenon, namely a mosaic nature. In fact, the cultural qualities in these names are distinctive in the sense that the British English names demonstrate valiant cultural qualities, the Spanish names display magnificent cultural qualities, the Indian names give off enchanting and plain cultural qualities, while the French and local American English names tend to be more lively.
