摘要
"民族"在高校校名中译为"Minzu"被效仿,同时这种译法也引发争议。把民族院校的更名与译名变化置于高校校名音译的趋势中观察,Minzu译名只是顺应了这种趋势。由于校名升级限阈、专名去属性化来扩大校名内涵,以利于学校品牌树立和大学形象构建等动因构筑了校名翻译攸关方心理空间外化共同作用的这种结果。
The English version of "nationality" in school name translation is transliterated as "Minzu". This version is taken and imitated by some translators though there are also disa- greements. If we take this phenomenon in the big picture of the trend of school name transla- tion, we can observe that the diction choice of the schools nationalities is the result of the trend. Generally ,schools ,due to the upgrading issue, may promote their image and brand by erasing the attribute from their school names. The translation choice is the result of the externalization of their psychological space.
