Dialyzing Modern China’s Constitutional Choice through Jiangxi Consultative Bureau

江西谘议局是晚清政府试图推行君主立宪的省级地方议会,谘议局议员利用这个平台积极参与立宪运动。但在君主立宪无法实现的情况下,大多数议员选择了民主共和。江西谘议局的立场转变对江西辛亥革命成果的巩固与扩大起到重要的促进作用。从江西谘议局的政治参与和从立宪走向共和,可以透析近代中国的宪政选择。

Jiangxi Consultative Bureau was a reserved organization of provincial legislation which tried to perform the mo- narchical constitutionalism. Jiangxi constitutionalists actively participated in constitutional activities. But in a constitutional monarchy unable to realize, most members of Parliament chose the democratic republic. The change of Jiangxi Consultative Bureau＇ s standpoint had very important effect on strengthening and enlarging the achievement of the Jiangxi Xinghai revolu- tion. Through the Jiangxi Consultative Bureau＇ s political participation and from the constituent to the republic, we can dia- lyze modem Chinese＇ s constitutional choice.
