The best representatives of metaphor can be found in the classical poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties, with refined wording and profound implication. Based on XuYuanchong＇ s translation of classical poetry and Newmark＇ suniversal strategies, the paper tries to generalize the specific translation strategies of classical poetry and their features.
