From Hostility to Normalization:the Evolution of Chinese Foreign Policy to ASEAN Countries during the Cold War

冷战时期中国与东盟的关系实现了从敌对状态到正常化的转变。在这个转变的过程中,中国对东盟的外交政策经历了从局部微调到整体性变化的发展过程,通过与印尼关系正常化,同新加坡建交和促进柬埔寨问题解决等努力,中国与东盟国家形成了全方位的政治接触,可以说中国外交政策的不断变化是推动中国与东盟关系和解的根本动力。

The relationship between China and ASEAN countries during the Cold War realized changed from hostility to normalization.Based on normalization of Sino-Indonesia relations,establishing diplomatic relations with Singapore as well as efforts on solving Cambodia issue,Chinese foreign policy towards ASEAN countries adjusted continuously,and finally reached the comprehensive political connection with ASEAN countries.It can be said that the continuously adjusting of Chinese foreign policy is the basic motivation which facilitates reconciliation of this relation.
