The Methods of Translating the Official Websites of Governments from the Perspective of Text Typology: With Zhongshan Municipality as an Example

在Newmark和Reiss的文本类型学及其相应翻译方法的基础上,结合实际分析政府网站的特点及其文本类型。政府网站具信息量大和信息准确的特点,文本以陈述型文本和操作型文本为主,可分别采用信译和意译、迻译的翻译方法。

Based on the text typology and translation methods proposed by Newmark and Reiss, the article addresses itself to the characteristics and text type of the official websites of governments, contending that the official websites of governments, which are characterized by the richness and accuracy of information, include content-focused texts and appeal-focused texts. Faithful translation and free translation find application in the rendering of these texts respectively.
