According to the facts that bolts applied in the camshaft timing gear of diesel engines are broken during test, the paper analyzes the factors that may lead to bolt fracture from these as- pects of air compressor, torsional vibration and vibration, quality of bolts and the connecting parts, finally, proposes the preventive and corrective measures.
