南京红卍字会陶锡三会长与南京大屠杀

Director Tao Xisan of Nanjing Red Swastika Society and Nanjing Massacre

陶锡三，江苏江宁人，早年曾留学日本，1922年，在南京发起创建世界红卍字会南京分会，被推任为会长，从事慈善事业，在社会上有一定的影响。南京大屠杀期间，在各界的支持和捐助下，红卍字会开始了难民尸体的掩埋工作，掩埋了43071具尸体。1938年1月1日，陶锡三出任南京自治委员会会长，旋即提出辞呈。

Tao Xisan was borned in Jiangning, Jiangsu province. He ever studied in Japan when he was young and launched to create the World Red Swastika Society, Nanjing Branch in 1922. He was pushed and appointed as the president and did some charity works with a certain impact in the community. In Nanjing Massacre, Red Swas- tika Society Nanjing Branch began the work of burying with the help of community. 43071 bodies were buried because of the efforts of World Red Swastika Society, Nanjing Branch. In January 1, 1938, Tao Xisan bacame the director of the Nanjing - Self - Governing Board but he immediately tendered his resignation.
