万爱花及其姐妹们的苦难可以说是身处战争年代广大普通女性个人命运的缩影，她们以自己的血泪经历，见证了那个正义与野蛮殊死抗争的年代。从某种意义上说，慰安妇群体的发掘是二次世界大战中最令人震惊的事件，她们做出的牺牲是具有全人类意义的。侵略战争是野蛮的，更残酷和野蛮的是被侵略战争扭曲的人性和行为。纵观山西地区受害女性的悲苦遭遇及其艰难的民间索赔历程，我们强烈地感到女性在战争岁月的坚强抗争和无边苦难，也感到个人命运与国家强盛的唇齿关系。
