日军在南京实施大规模的、惨绝人寰的大屠杀时,实行了严密的新闻封锁。但世上没有不透风的墙,日本当局再严密的政策与措施,也不可能完全遮蔽天空。在日本当时的传媒上的一些新闻报道以及有关文章论著,由于各种原因,竟泄露出日军在南京暴行的一些蛛丝马迹。正如日本历史学家秦郁彦所说：＂如果深加探索,关于南京事件的蛛丝马迹,并不是不能找到的。＂报刊之外,日军官兵还自行拍摄了许多南京战事的照片。这些＂蛛丝马迹＂与这些照片正是日军南京大屠杀的铁证之一。
