Refugee Problems around Guangzhou＇ s Falling in Anti- Japanese War

抗战初期,随着日军进攻华南,广州难民问题日益严重。据估算,广州沦陷前后,难民的数量在70万人以上。许多广州难民随政府的迁移而奔走流离,期望在政府的护翼下求得生存。短距离的流亡多往经济相对落后的粤北和粤西地区,长距离的流亡主要往内地后方城市。广州沦陷前后的难民问题是在战时和战后初期对地方社会产生重要影响的一个问题。

As the Japanese army quickened its pace of invading South China, the number of Guangzhou refugee became larger and larger. According to the estate data, the number of refugee was over 700,000 during the first few years when Guangzhou was occupied. Many refugees had to move around, hoping they could survive under the government＇ s cover. Refugees, who didn＇ t move far away, normally moved to the North, the West of Guangdong, where there was comparatively backward economy and where was not completed occupied. And the tones, who moved far away, mainly moved to the inland cities of Southwest China.
