The sustainable development is a popular constant topic for discussion and one of three key points of ecology taken cere of by society. The writer has described the important contributions of ecology to the sustained development from the breeding, emergence and growth of sustained development, discussed the promotion of sustained development to ecology from the position of ecology,its relationship with other subjects, its process of developrnent and the methods of ecological study, and finally put forward eight tasks of ecology in carrying on the strategy of sustainable development in China.
