西汉前期,河间献王刘德修学好古,实事求是,广泛搜集古籍文献,在河间形成了以献王刘德为首的河间儒学中心。刘德作为首倡者,在促进中国儒家文化、传统礼乐文化、藏书文化以及学术思想的传播与发展等方面作出了巨大贡献。

In the early time of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu De, Xian-king of Hejian, actively studied ancient knowledge, sought the truth from facts, and widely collected ancient books and docu- ments. A center of Confucianism was formed under the leadership of Liu De in Hejian. As the initiator of the center of Confucianism, Liu De made a great contribution to the developing and expanding of Chinese Confucian culture, the traditional system of Rite and Music, the book collection culture and ac- ademic thoughts.
